At Turning Point Ministries we spend a significant amount of time, effort and treasure on home construction. Building homes is challenging and can be filled with delays due to weather or the availability and timing of resources, and the reliance on one of our most valuable resources — volunteers! But, building homes is actually secondary in our mission. Our primary mission is to bless others in the name of Jesus Christ. It just so happens that in our case we are blessing them with the opportunity to become homeowners. We post a lot of pictures of our homes because we are proud of our neighborhood Heritage Village and the homes we build. We also post a lot of pictures of our volunteers out of gratitude because we could not accomplish our mission without them. But, this post is in honor of our homeowners. They are why Turning Point Ministries exists. Becoming a Turning Point homeowner takes effort. They are hard-working, determined people and we love them and are blessed to know them! Here are pictures of some of our most recent home owners mostly taken at their home deciation ceremonies:
We need volunteers to help work on the two houses currently under construction in Heritage Village. Volunteer dates are Saturday January 4th and January 11th from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. More information on the sign up page linked below. It takes many hands to offer a hand up to homeownership! Thank you for your support!
In order to keep up with the growth of our ministry and increase the number of people we are able to serve in the Edmond community, Turning Point Ministries is hiring a part-time Executive Director. Founded in 2008, Turning Point relied on a volunteer Board of Directors until a few years ago when we hired our first employee, a building superintendent. We are now at a point where the work exceeds what can be accomplished through a volunteer board. Please share with anyone you know that might be interested in the position. Applicants should thoughtfully read the job description and send a resume using the links below.
This Sunday, November 17th at 2:00, we will dedicate the home at 200 N. Walnut for Turning Point’s newest homeowners, Arminder and Amandeep Kounsil. Turning Point board members will lead a home blessing ceremony followed by refreshments. We invite all friends and supporters of Turning Point to celebrate with us!
We have a Turning Point home currently under construction at 201 N. Walnut in our neighborhood Heritage Village which was funded in part by a grant from Wells Fargo. In addition to financial assistance for the home, our local Wells Fargo personnel will be joining Turning Point volunteers tomorrow, October 1, to work on the home. All Turning Point volunteers are welcome to join us. Group volulnteer days are a great way that your group can enjoy serving together while offering much-needed support to Turning Point. If your business, church or other organization is interested in scheduling a Volunteer Day, please contact us. Thank you to Wells Fargo and everyone who supports Turning Point through volunteering, financial support or prayer.
