Many different types of groups volunteer with Turning Point: churches, small groups, youth groups, businesses, civic organizations.

Volunteer As a Group

If your group is interested in helping with Turning Point in any way, please let us know using our Contact Us form linked here.


You don't have to know how to build a house, but if you do that's great! There are many different types of tasks involved in the construction of a house. No experience required.


Groups can take on fundraising projects that benefit Turning Point or volunteer together at the Turkey Trot 5K road race on Thanksgiving. This race is held annual and is our primary fundraising event.

There many ways individuals can serve with Turning Point as well. See Volunteer Guidelines for age restrictions, waivers & other information.


There are a variety of tasks with which volunteers can help: caulking, painting, taping and tidying up around the site just to name a few. Our future home owners invest sweat equity into the program through volunteering during construction so one of the best parts of volunteering at the construction sites is getting to know the Turning Point clients that we serve.


Volunteers are need to assist with preparations when we have a home dedication ceremony by providing a tray of cookies or setting up refreshments.


Our mentor volunteers work one-on-one with a home buyer to help encourage then throughout the home ownership process. Responsibilities may include budgeting or simply serving as a “cheerleader” to encourage them on the journey to home ownership.
